The National Executive Council celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the new Rule with a Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Auckland City, on Sat. 21st July 2018. All OFS members present, prayed the Rule and made their annual renewal of Profession. This was followed by a shared lunch and the customary cutting of the celebratory cake, at Liston Hall with a great turnout of members from all Auckland fraternities.
The Feast of Our Lady of the Angels (August 2nd) is also the chance to gain the Portiuncula Plenary Indulgence. All franciscans are invited to take the opportunity to gain this indulgence. (click HERE to view further information about the conditions to obtain the indulgence)
A special Mass is taking place at St Patrick's Cathedral, Auckland on Saturday 21 July, to join in spirit with the rest of the International Fraternity to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the present Rule. "This is a big occasion for all Secular Franciscans," says National Minister Lloyd de Melo. All Ministers and as many members of the various fraternities around Auckland are encouraged to be present and there will be an opportunity for all attendees to make their annual renewal of Profession. A shared lunch will take place after Holy Mass in Liston Hall. Members please bring a plate.
